One day of our holiday I took my bike to cycle the 25 km southward to Bremerhaven. It was great to drive along the coast with gorgious views of the waterway to Bremerhaven.

From the Atlantic Hotel Sail City you have a beautiful 360-degrees-view of Bremerhaven. A "place to be" when you are in this city.

The main attractions for tourists are found at the Havenwelten and include the German Emigration Center, the German Maritime Museum, The Klimahaus and a lot of other modern buildings.

It is rather a small animal park than a real zoo, but ... it is a wonderful compact oasis directly at the estuary of the river Weser. At that time there was a young Icebear to watch.

At that day I was awaken very early. So I took the camera for a walk to the beach. The sun rised behind of me and I got more and more wonderful sunny spots in front of me at the seaside.

Because of very poor weather in the first week of our stay (not 10 degrees Celsius in middle of august) I was glad to have my first sunset without rain and storms. But unfortunatly with majestic clouds ... the next days it was getting better and better.

The Klimahaus ("Science Center") Bremerhaven was opened on 26 June 2009 by the Irish musician and human rights activist Bob Geldof. It shows on an area of 11.500 sqm the way along the
8th east longitude. Stations are Switzerland, Italy, Niger, Cameroons, Antarctic, Samoa, Alaska and Germany.

At the end of the some hundred miles long Elbe Cycle Path the rideway goes along the estuary of the River Elbe. There were flocks of sheeps and cows, where you had to drive through.

That day the National Park Visitor Center oranized a hike in the wadden during the sunset hours. Great sunset colours made you feel to be in a cinemascope movie.

The "Old Love" is a dock with a viewing platform at the port of Cuxhaven. From here you have a gorgious view to the big ships passing by to Hamburg.

From our holiday home in Dorum we made a bicyle trip to the little village of Wremen, 10 miles in the south. There it is a similiar harbour but with a stumpy small lighthouse: the "Kleiner Preusse".
