Rømø | Denmark | 2013-09
Again we visited this beautiful island north of Sylt. This year we drove directly to the marvellous beach and had a nice afternoon. Than we started our picnic until the sun seemed to plump into the water. The only description for this happening should be: RED.

Marina Minde | Rendbjerg | Denmark | 2013-08
Nearby our holiday home is this marina. Every nice weekend it is overcrowded because of the ship owners, especially germans. The reason is that the route to the baltic sea is not as far as from Kiel or Lübeck.

Ribe is the oldest extant Danish town. It was in former times the main danish harbour city at the north sea. Today a lot of old buildings and the fantastic cathedral make that you feel set back for some hundred years.

Esbjerg | Denmark | 2013-08-20
During our trip to Ribe we thought that visiting the nearby city of Esbjerg is a good idea. But after the nice village of Ribe, Esbjerg was a cold and dirty city... in our opinion. And so the selection of pics is quite small.

Dybbol Banke | Sonderborg | Denmark | 2012-08-30
The Battle of Dybbøl (Danish: Slaget ved Dybbøl) was the key battle of the Second Schleswig War and occurred on the morning of 18 April 1864 following a siege starting on 7 April. Denmark suffered a severe defeat against the German Confederation, which decided the war. During the battle around 3,600 Danes and 1,200 Prussians were either killed, wounded or disappeared. On the field of Dybbøl were formerly national symbols of both warring sides: the Danish Dybbøl Mill and the German Düppeldenkmal. Dybbøl Mill still stands, but the German victory monument was blown up in 1945. Origin: wikipedia

Cemetery | Broager | Denmark | 2012-08-30
In Broager, between Sonderborg and Krusa, there is Denmarks only 2-towered church.
Around this nice building it is the cemetery and a monument to remember the Broager victims of World War 1. In Nybol there is a little church with cemetery which I visited later that day.
