With the "Friends of the School" from my daughter´s college we made a guided tour to the Jewish Cemetery Obergrombach. The guide told us a lot of stories from the life of jewish people in the surrounding of Bruchsal.

In the travel guide book I read about this cemetery as a nice spot. In reality it was quite nice…. But for the most part there were newer tombs. Nothing for me :-)

Around our resort Dorum there are some smaller villages with a church in the middle and a cemetery around it. I made a short bike trip to visit some of them. Have a look!

Before the Berlin Wall there was even an own railway line to this cemetery. During the Cold War the cemetery was situated in the "east", the deaths were from the "west"… and so it lost its reputation.

The first one (St. Jacobi Cemetery) is rather ruined, the second one (Jerusalem Cemetery) is small with landing lights of the former Tempelhof Airport and the third one (St. Thomas Cemetery) is very big with older and newer tombs.

On my way to Potsdam I made a short stop at the Church of the Redeemer in Sacrow. Once again nice views to the Glienecke Bridge.

The Bornstedt Crown estate - the former seat of Crown Princess Victoria - is now completely restored and open to the public. Just beneath is a nice pittoresque cemetery.

It was my wish since some years that I can visit this cemetery in Berlin-Weißensee. That day I was there it was very cold and sometimes there were some snow flakes falling down.
