After the conquest by the Moors Tortosa was recovered in 1148 from a part of the army of the Second Crusade of Barcelona. In the years 1413/14 the Disputation of Tortosa was held here, one of the forced religious discussions between Christians and Jews in the Middle Ages. During the Spanish Civil War, the area surrounding the city was in 1938 for four months the scene of the Battle of the Ebro. Origin: wikipedia

Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge | Manhattan | Brooklyn | New York City | USA | 2014-06-15
Our last trip during 1 week "New York" leads us again to the both bridges between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The difference between today and 3 days ago, where we did the same trip, was the weather. Blue sky and sunny moods ... a perfect final for this fantastic week in NYC.

"The 'German' Bridges" - Part 2

Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge | New York City | USA | 2014-06-12
The so-called german bridges Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and Williamsburg Bridge ("B-M-W") connect the Manhattan Island with Brooklyn. A nice trip to walk is that you start in Chinatown at the south side pedestrian way of the Manhattan Bridge (with spectacular views to the Brooklyn Bridge) heading to Brookyln and take the wooden pedestrian trail of the Brooklyn Bridge to come back to Manhattan.

"The famoust bridge on earth"

http://uwepetercom.blogspot.com/2008/06/the-famoust-bridge-on-earth-golden-gate.html
Golden Gate Bridge | San Francisco | California | USA | 2008-06-09
Construction of the bridge began on January 5, 1933. The project was finished by April 1937. The Golden Gate Bridge is not only the most popular place to commit suicide in the United States but the most popular in the entire world. The deck is approximately 245 feet (75 m) above the water. After a fall of approximately four seconds, jumpers hit the water at some 76 miles per hour (122 km/h). At such a speed, water has proven to take on properties similar to concrete.
