Only a short drive away from our holiday home there is one of the biggest Moor in the North-West, the Ahlenmoor. There is a very nice and instructive Visitor Center, from where also the Moor Train starts its rides.

In Weingarten (10km north of Karlsruhe) is a small nature reserve moor. It is situated in a small forest between the railway and the B3. On a cold sunday afternoon in January 2012

I strolled through the frozen forest and took some pictures.
