Another "must-do" in Bremerhaven is a trip by boat along the Container-Terminal. The Container Terminal Bremerhaven was in 2010, the largest contiguous container terminal in the world with an expansion of nearly 5km.

One day of our holiday I took my bike to cycle the 25 km southward to Bremerhaven. It was great to drive along the coast with gorgious views of the waterway to Bremerhaven.

It is rather a small animal park than a real zoo, but ... it is a wonderful compact oasis directly at the estuary of the river Weser. At that time there was a young Icebear to watch.

Because of very poor weather in the first week of our stay (not 10 degrees Celsius in middle of august) I was glad to have my first sunset without rain and storms. But unfortunatly with majestic clouds ... the next days it was getting better and better.

The Klimahaus ("Science Center") Bremerhaven was opened on 26 June 2009 by the Irish musician and human rights activist Bob Geldof. It shows on an area of 11.500 sqm the way along the
8th east longitude. Stations are Switzerland, Italy, Niger, Cameroons, Antarctic, Samoa, Alaska and Germany.
